Today the pleated skirt is similar to it, while the flowing fairy skirt with wide sleeves has become a legend.
Wan Chu of the Tang Dynasty said in "Five Days of Watching Prostitutes": "The eyebrows with black eyebrows are the color of day lily, and the red skirt is jealous of pomegranate flowers." He is talking about the pomegranate skirt. It is rumored that it is related to Yang Guifei. It was rumored that Concubine Yang liked to wear pomegranate skirts and she complained to Emperor Xuanzong that the ministers looked down on her. Therefore, Emperor Xuanzong ordered ministers to kneel down when meeting Concubine Yang, otherwise they would be punished for deceiving the emperor. Hence the phrase "bow down under the pomegranate skirt". In ancient times, it was a serious crime to deceive the emperor, and one might be beheaded, but ministers did not dare to disobey the emperor. This shows the ignorance of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
In the late Ming Dynasty, the decoration of skirts became more and more elaborate, and the width of the skirt increased to ten, and the pleats on the waist became denser and denser. It is said that it was a light-colored painted skirt, with a total of ten skirts, and each pleat on the waist had its own use. One color, light and elegant, the wind moves like moonlight, hence the name. The actual appearance of this skirt is not very good.
