Why is Hanfu in Fuzhou outstanding

Recently, the Fujian Flower Festival was held in Liangcuo, a characteristic historical and cultural district in Cangshan District. Young men and women dressed in Hanfu welcomed the spring with blooming flowers. The reporter learned from an interview on the 27th that with the rise of national trend culture and the active promotion of Hanfu enthusiasts in Fuzhou, Hanfu culture has successfully "broken the circle" in Fuzhou. From an early niche hobby to now it has widely entered the public eye, and more and more people people have found new career opportunities in the Hanfu cultural industry chain.

Traditional culture blessing

Fuzhou Hanfu becomes more popular

In recent years, with the blessing of traditional culture, the popularity of Hanfu in Fuzhou has continued to rise. In historical and cultural districts, parks and green spaces, you can often see young men, women and children wearing Hanfu taking photos and checking in. Along with this, Hanfu experience centers and travel photography studios have also opened one after another, and Hanfu culture has "broken the circle".

This makes Zheng Wei, president of the Fujian Provincial Hanfu Culture Promotion Association and Fuzhou Traditional Culture Promotion Association, very pleased. As a native of Fuzhou, Zheng Wei has been committed to promoting Hanfu and excellent traditional Chinese culture for more than 20 years. He clearly remembers that Hanfu was still a niche hobby when it emerged in Fuzhou in 2003. He met a group of young people with common interests through the Internet and discussed the development of traditional Chinese culture together. In 2007, the Cangshan District Traditional Culture Promotion Association was established. Zheng Wei proposed starting from festivals and etiquette and using Hanfu as a carrier to revive traditional culture.

"We put on Hanfu and do traditional cultural activities on traditional festivals such as the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. At the beginning, there were twenty or thirty young people participating each time. As the activities became more and more, the number of Hanfu enthusiasts participating became more and more. More and more people are coming, and the number of 'group members' has grown from a few dozen at the beginning to more than 600 now." Zheng Wei said that with the strong support of governments at all levels, by the peak in 2018, Fuzhou held more than 100 events a year Offline Hanfu cultural activities involve traditional festival customs, school opening ceremonies, traditional Chinese weddings, etc.

"Flower Chao Festival" is a typical representative. As one of the traditional Chinese festivals, the Fujian Provincial Hanfu Culture Promotion Association has taken the lead in organizing the "Flower Festival" cultural event in 2021, which has linked up with many places across the country, allowing the "Flower Festival" that has been passed down for thousands of years to return in a form that is more popular with citizens. In January 2021, the "Traditional Customs of the Flower Festival" was selected as a provincial intangible cultural heritage in Fujian.

"Today, more and more young people are not only fascinated by the retro beauty of Hanfu, but also the profound cultural connotation behind it," Zheng Wei said.

Hanfu market expansion

Spawn peripheral industries and new occupations

Industry insiders admit that as more and more people like to wear Hanfu, a full-chain industry of "Hanfu + styling + photography + photo" has been formed, and the "Hanfu economic circle" is gradually taking shape.

The Hanfu culture promotion point of Anmin·Banshe Hotel, located at No. 30 Anmin Lane, Sanfang Qixiang, Fuzhou, attracts many citizens and tourists every day to stop and learn about Hanfu, makeup or shooting matters. The relevant person in charge, Dong Jianhong, will respond seriously.

Dong Jianhong is the representative inheritor of Cangshan Hanfu production skills and one of the first batch of people in Fuzhou to convert from Hanfu enthusiasts to practitioners. She has been engaged in promoting Hanfu culture for 19 years and has witnessed the development of Hanfu culture in Fuzhou. "With the rise of Hanfu, more and more consumers are coming to try to take photos, and many of them come to take family photos." Dong Jianhong said.

In addition to her daily work at the Hanfu cultural promotion point, Dong Jianhong is also making her own "December Order" original Hanfu brand bigger and stronger, doing everything herself from designing Hanfu, selecting fabrics to going to the printing factory for samples. After the Hanfu is ready, she sells it through the e-commerce platform. "Hanfu is not only clothes, but also a cultural symbol. Turning something you like into a career gives you a sense of accomplishment." Dong Jianhong said.

From March 15th to 18th, the Fujian Provincial Hanfu Culture Promotion Association held this year's first Hanfu and Han Ceremony Ceremony Officer Training in Rong. 10 Hanfu and Han Ceremony Ceremony Officers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guangxi, Hunan and other places learned systematically from the teacher. Chinese traditional etiquette and other knowledge, and successfully completed the course.

The introduction of training for Hanfu and Han ceremonial officials is one of the important measures taken by the Fujian Provincial Hanfu Culture Promotion Association to promote Hanfu culture in recent years. “Since the launch of the training in May 2020, there have been more than 300 ceremony officers from Fuzhou, all over the world, ranging in age from their 20s to their 50s. At most, 10 ceremonies have been held a year. Training." The relevant person in charge introduced.

Chuyun is one of the ceremony officials in Fuzhou Hanfu Han ceremony. After participating in the ceremony officer training in 2021, he used his spare time to inherit and carry forward Hanfu and Han rites in Lianjiang, and participated in activities such as traditional ancient rites and worship at the Fuzhou (Lianjiang) Fishing Festival. "Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound. It is a meaningful thing to inherit and carry forward Hanfu and Hanli. Now more and more people are holding Hanfu weddings, adult ceremonies, etc., and I have met a group of like-minded friends. I am very happy." Chu Yun explain.

The reporter learned that the popularity of Hanfu culture has not only promoted the development of Hanfu sales, rentals, photography and other industries, but also made careers such as Hanfu etiquette trainers, Hanfu models, and Hanfu designers popular. On some video platforms, many bloggers attract fans by sharing their experiences on wearing Hanfu and choosing shooting locations. In addition, demand for some national-style clothing and jewelry has emerged, bringing new consumption hot spots to Fuzhou's cultural tourism industry.

Build a platform to share resources

Promote Hanfu culture to be more brilliant

On Yantai Shantingxia Road in Cangshan District, the "Hanfu World" Hanfu Experience Center is very conspicuous. The more than 300 square meters of space integrates functions such as Hanfu rental and sales, Hanfu experience, elegant gathering space, and Hanfu cultural activity space. It has become a popular place for many citizens and tourists. check-in point.

As an indispensable part of industrial development, the Hanfu Experience Center located in the historical and cultural district further enriches Fuzhou's tourism products and services. However, it is an indisputable fact that in recent years, the number of Hanfu experience centers in Fuzhou scenic spots has been decreasing.

Fujian Hanfu Tianxia Cultural Development Co., Ltd. is an enterprise focusing on cultural services. In 2015, it opened the Han Culture Life Museum in Sanfangqixiang. Subsequently, it rapidly expanded to Jin'an Guling, Gulou Liming Lake and other places, and went beyond Fuzhou to open branches in 6 domestic cities including Quanzhou, Liuzhou and Shenzhen.

"From 2016 to 2019, the turnover of Hanfu experience centers in Fuzhou continued to grow and they were all profitable. Later, affected by the impact of e-commerce and other factors, some experience centers closed down." said the relevant person in charge of Hanfu World.

How can Fuzhou Hanfu culture be more outstanding? In Zheng Wei's view, challenges also mean new opportunities. "The Fujian Provincial Hanfu Culture Promotion Association plans to build a large platform across the country to build Fuzhou Hanfu brand, make down-to-earth Hanfu, and enhance competitiveness. In addition, the association also plans to establish a national clothing and props resource sharing platform to continue to promote Hanfu culture." Zheng Wei explain.

At present, Zheng Wei is still negotiating cooperation with Hanfu societies and local Chinese societies in Japan, Malaysia, France, the United States and other countries and regions to carry out Hanfu global promotion activities. “I believe the future will get better and better,” Zheng Wei said.
