The case documents disclosed on the Shanghai Higher People’s Court website show that based on the application of Shanghai Luzhou Knitted Garment Co., Ltd., the Shanghai No. 3 Intermediate People’s Court ruled that the debtor Aige Clothing was bankrupt and liquidated on October 8, 2019. .

Eiger was founded in 1916. The first store opened in Berlin, Germany, specializing in underwear and socks.. In 1997, Egger was listed on the Paris Stock Exchange. At that time, its business had expanded to Hanfu, men's clothing, underwear, etc., with thousands of stores around the world. In 2017, Egger was delisted from the Paris Stock Exchange.
Eiger entered the Chinese market very early. In 1994, the French Egger Group established a wholly-owned subsidiary in China, Shanghai Yingmodel Clothing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yingmodel Garment"), and in 2001, Egger Clothing was established. At its peak, Egger had more than 3,000 stores in China.
But since 2013, Egger’s sales in the Chinese market have declined year after year. In 2016, Egger's operating loss in the Chinese market reached 19.4 million euros.
In May 2018, Egger Group completely abandoned its Chinese business and reached an agreement with a professional investment institution in Hong Kong to sell all the ready-made clothing business of its brand Egger in the Chinese market. According to Jiemian Fashion’s reports at the time, Zhou Jinguo, the broker of the transaction and founder and CEO of Qiaobo International Fashion Group, will be fully responsible for Iger’s future garment business in the Chinese market.
However, Zhou Jinguo is no longer responsible for Iger’s Chinese garment business.
According to the Tianyancha APP, Zhou Jinguo withdrew from the legal representative of Ying Model Clothing and Aige Clothing in September 2018, and withdrew from the director registration in November 2018.
After that, Ying Model Clothing and Egger Clothing got into a series of troubles.

It is worth noting that although the Egger Group has completely sold its garment business, it still operates the underwear business in China, and intends to downplay the relationship between the underwear brand and "Eiger" and cut it off from Egger Hanfu. The main body of the underwear brand under the Eiger Group in China is Etam Underwear (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and its name on major platforms and online malls is "Etam".
At 0:00 on November 13, Etam Underwear stated on its official Weibo that "Etam is still here" and said that "the ready-made clothing line has left, and the underwear line has returned."
However, Etam Underwear There are still no physical stores in China. On September 3, Etam stated on its official WeChat account that the physical store is still under preparation, and consumers can currently purchase it on the brand’s Tmall flagship store.Purchase goods in stores and WeChat mini-program malls.
